Proposals should be accepted if it's for improving the resource
Even if a proposal is not fully correct, we should accept it if it's for improving the database. For example, if a proposal to update the themes of "One Piece" from "Unknown" to "Adventure" is created, even if the perfect themes for "One Piece" should be "Adventure, Action", we should accept this proposal and then create a new one to add the "Action theme".
If it's for improving the database, accept it unless it's wrong. The only exception is the banner; refuse a banner proposal if they are under 1500px width (it's better to have a default banner than a blurry one).
Kaize is not a copy of MyAnimeList or others websites
Even though Kaize has similar values for resources, you shouldn't just copy it from another website.
If the values are "Unknown" on Kaize, it is a good first steep to copy it first so that it's not empty.
But if the values are different from others websites, it does not mean it's wrong!
If an anime has the genres "Action" and "Adventure" and someone wants to add the genre "Comedy", and another website doesn't have it, it does not make it wrong. There are times when other websites write something wrong or are valued based on people's opinions. Vote proposals if you think it's correct or not based on your opinion (if you don't know because you aren't sure or have not seen the resource, ignore the proposal).
This rule also applies to resource names! Kaize resource name should be the same as the original name. For example, if MyAnimeList chooses an English Name for a Manwha instead of the original name, it's wrong to change it just to do the same.
Don't rename a resource with another resource name
You should never rename a resource with another name. For example, if we have twice the anime "One Piece" in the database, it's easier to rename one of them to another anime like "Naruto". But you should never do that! Because if someone has "One Piece" in their list and you rename it to "Naruto", this person will have a wrong entry in their list.
In that case, delete one of the two "One Piece" (the one with the fewer data or stats) and create "Naruto" normally. The user will still have the deleted "One Piece" in their list, but with a "Deleted" label, so they know they have to search for the new one.
About the banner
The resource banner is displayed in a fixed area, which means that every banner is adapted to fill the space and it can be zoomed or cropped.
It's also adaptive to the screen size, which means that the same image is used for mobile, tablet and desktop, so it's normal for the image to end up zoomed or cropped based on your screen size. We highly recommend you to use a banner with no important part like characters, for example a background that is a decor from the anime or a banner where the main part, like the characters, is centered. The crop effect is made on the border of the image.
The image also needs to be high quality since its displayed in full width: 1500px width is the minimum and a horizontal format it's also necessary.
About english name
If a resource doesn't have an English name, it's better to set the English name to the original name instead of "Unknown".
Series for unique resource
Even if a resource is unique, which mean it's the only manga or anime of this series, we should create a series. It allows people to know that there is no other resources for this series and it makes it easier to update if a new anime or manga is created for this series.
Synopsis source
Synopsis can be a copy paste from another website, but don't forget to add the, you need to add a "(Source: Website)" at the end. To be consistent with the database, you need to put in brackets with an "S" uppercase, a space after the ":" and using the full name of the source (For example "MyAnimeList" is correct but "MAL" is wrong).
The "[Written by MAL Rewrite]" is allowed, but "(Source: MyAnimeList)" is better.
If you have written the synopsis yourself, you can add a "Source: Kaize" at the end to specify it's custom-made by Kaize users.
Fan-made
For the moment, fan made anime/manga or equivalent are not accepted. There is a lot of fan-made content on the internet and Kaize is not adapted to that. It will be wrong to add a fan-made manga in a series and wrong to let the fan-made to "Unknown".
Report system
You can report a user by clicking the button on the user profile or in a proposal. This will create a report that will be checked by an admin manually, this can lead to a temporary or definitive ban of the proposals system. This period will increase based on the number of reports and the time between them, it can go to a definitive ban if the users keep ignoring rules.
For reporting a user, you need to have a reason, you can't report a user without a reason.
