NHK ni Youkoso!
Synopsis
Tatsuhiro Satou, a 22-year-old college dropout, has spent the last four years living reclusively, only leaving his small six-mat tatami apartment for food, alcohol, and cigarettes. All of this, however, isn't his fault. It came as a result of something Satou recently discovered, something of great importance--the existence of a dark conspiracy conjured up by the Japanese Broadcasting Company, N.H.K., to make good people like him into hikikomori! One spring morning, Satou meets a young girl named Misaki, who vows that she knows how to change him. Reluctantly, Satou begins to face his trauma and crawl out of his reclusive shell, commencing his journey toward becoming a productive member of society. The story follows the day-to-day life of Tatsuhiro Satou, characterizing how his sustained hikikomori habits warp his perception of reality while perpetuating feelings of existential dread and substance abuse.
