A trilogy of animated films produced by Toei Animation starring Pero, an adventurous anthropomorphic cat inspired by the title character of Charles Perrault’s Puss in Boots. After being condemned by the Cat Kingdom for helping a mouse, Pero becomes a fugitive, constantly pursued by three cat assassins sent to capture him. Each film places Pero in a different adventure and setting. Although largely standalone, the three films are connected by Pero and his recurring pursuers, forming Toei’s Puss in Boots film trilogy.
