Towns are constantly ravaged by the "Living Dead," zombies under the control of plant-like monsters known as "Mothers." The only ones who can defeat such creatures are the Necromancers—humans with the ability to harness the power of the underworld.
One day, Necromancers Karuto and Lily witness a horrific deed at the hands of the very organization that they serve—the Church. While Karuto is committed to his duty, Lily questions whether being loyal is worth sacrificing her own happiness.
